Exklusiv bei Amazon.de erscheint am 10.02.2022 eine Ultimate 4K Ultra HD Collection zu „Ghostbusters“. Sie enthält neue Discs der ersten beiden Filme, die nun auch Dolby Vision bieten.
Mittlerweile sind auch die neuen Extras bekannt, die in diesem Set exklusiv vorhanden sein werden. Beispielsweise wird es den ersten Film jetzt auch in einer speziellen Preview-Schnittfassung zu sehen geben – leider allerdings nur in SD. Für Fans dürfte jene Version mit exklusiven Szenen, noch unfertigen Effekten und alternativen Takes aber sicherlich einen Blick wert sein. Zudem gibt es die TV-Cuts des ersten und zweiten Films, ebenfalls in SD, welche für das US-Fernsehen erstellt worden sind und einige Szenen leicht abändern.

Außerdem hat sich Sony Pictures Home Entertainment ein Herz für Puristen gefasst: Die Tonspuren der ersten beiden Filme werden im englischsprachigen Original nun in der Original-Abmischung in Stereo vorliegen, so wie sie damals im Kino verwendet worden sind. Ebenfalls enthalten die UHD Blu-rays zu „Ghostbusters“ und „Ghostbusters II“ nun Dolby Vision. Die bisher erhältlichen Discs mussten mit HDR10 auskommen.
Das ist es dann fast nebensächlich, dass auch der neuere Film „Ghostbusters: Afterlife“ im Set enthalten ist. Auch dieser Film erhält eine 4K-Umsetzung mit Dolby Vision. Der Originalton wird auch in Dolby Atmos verfügbar sein. Der neue Film stieß bei Fans und Kritikern auf eher gemischte Reaktionen, war jedoch finanziell erfolgreich.

Aktuell ist die „Ghostbusters: Ultimate 4K Ultra HD Collection“ bei Amazon.de ausverkauft, es ist aber gut möglich, dass noch weitere Einheiten hereintröpfeln. Das Set enthält eine Sonderverpackung im Geisterfallen-Design und auch einen Nachdruck des 220-seitigen Buches „Making Ghostbusters“ aus dem Jahr 1985.
