The Affordable Connectivity Program provided discounts on home internet services and computer technology, allowing low and fixed-income households access to affordable services that are critical to many. Our friends at Free Geek are working hard to bring visibility to bill H.R.6929, which would help restore funding to the program.

The pandemic showed the digital divide: both the lack of infrastructure and affordability. The Affordable Connectivity Program made broadband affordable for many - funding ends this week (unless Congress renews the program). With hybrid education and work, affordable broadband should be an affordable utility.Having access helps with #broadcast as well as #live #events Let's chat #avtweeps about the tech behind infrastructure:https://lnkd.in/e6UUjSB2

Kudos to the AAPB for creating a clear and straightforward guide for communities that want to own their internet futures! If you've been wondering how your village, township or city can overcome the challenges of no internet, or the dominion of a single provider, this is the handbook you've been looking for!#Broadband#AAPB#Bentonhttps://lnkd.in/dtXF3xNi

Digital Inclusion is starting to get some attention where it matters. And hopefully it will land on respective public sector decision-making radars, and start to be part of policy thinking / process right from the onset of an initiative.
