Why Do You Need Our Massage Treatment?

The practise of massage is frequently included in integrative medicine. It is increasingly being provided in addition to normal care for a variety of medical problems and circ*mstances.

Massage has been shown to reduce the levels of stress hormones that create the “fight-or-flight” response, and can boost “feel good” neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin. Massage is a strategy worth adding to your self-care arsenal.

Improving Circulation – It is believed that massage enhances lymphatic and blood circulation. This is most likely caused by a combination of the chemicals released during the relaxation response and the physical manipulation of soft tissue.

Stress Relief – Deep tissue massage is a great stress reliever. Whether you are experiencing stress at home or at work, getting a massage is a great way to unplug and relax for an extended period of time.

Reduces Pain – The use of deep tissue massage treatment can be used to treat a variety of ailments. Massage treatment can be used to treat fibromyalgia, stiff necks, plantar fasciitis, chronic lower back pain, and all of these conditions.Deep tissue massage can help release the painful tissue clusters and reduce muscle tension, which is a common side effect of chronic pain.

Reduces Arthritis Symptoms – Deep tissue massage therapy can be used to treat many different symptoms of arthritis, like pain, stiffness, limited range of motion in joints, and sleep issues.

Helps with Labour and Delivery – Prenatal massages are a great way for women to relax and ease tight muscles due to pregnancy. The increases in cortisol also help women minimize depression, anxiety, and leg and back pain. Deep tissue massage can help women control their pain during labor as well as ease postpartum depression.

Relax Injured Muscles – Deep tissue massage therapy is used frequently to treat sports-related injuries. If you have injured muscles, a deep tissue massage can help stretch tight or twisted muscles and can also facilitate the movement of toxins from your muscles. Many athletes are incorporating this type of treatment into their recovery protocols.

Our Process

1

Choose An Oil

The oil used in a massage should be moisturising and leave the skin feeling nourished. Water-based and petroleum-based lubricants are not ideal as they are absorbed too quickly by the skin. The best oils also have an essential oil included for their aromatherapy benefits.

2

Prepare The Area

Some low-tempo chillout music is played to add another primary sense to the equation along with a comfortable temperature and dimming of the light to produce a relaxing atmosphere.

3

Application Of Touch

The amount of oil you use is determined by the amount of traction you want on the tissues - deep tissue massages need more oil, while Swedish Massages require less oil.

4

Complete Relaxation

There are many different types of massage techniques to choose from. The most essential aspects are to relieve stress and channel positive energy through to the other person.

Massage FAQs

Do I have to be completely undressed? What do you wear for a massage?

You may undress to your level of comfort. Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others choose to be nude. Your massage therapist will leave the room so you can undress and lie on the massage table under a top sheet. Regardless if you choose to maintain some clothing or not, your massage therapist will always ensure that you are always properly covered.

Will the massage hurt?

In general, massages should not hurt. In fact, if you are in pain during a massage, this may cause your muscles to seize up, making the relaxing effects more difficult to achieve. If the pressure is too intense, speak up immediately so your therapist can adjust. Certain techniques may result in soreness during the days following a massage, similar to that of a great workout, but in general, you should not have pain during or after your massage.

Do you talk during a massage?

Some people enjoy having a conversation during their massage but keep in mind, the treatment is all about you releasing your tensions and enjoying the experience. Regardless of your choice, be sure to speak up during the massage if there is anything you’d like adjusted (temperature, pressure, music, etc).

What if I fall asleep and snore or drool?

It is very common for guests to fall asleep during their massage. If you snore or drool, don’t worry, your massage therapist has definitely seen this before and will not judge. We love seeing you so relaxed!

How often should I get a massage?

Individual preference varies, so for most it depends on your pain, physical needs, emotional needs, and of course, budget. Receiving a massage regularly has the most benefit; this can be as often as weekly or monthly.

TESTIMONIALS

“Bringing my teenage son who is experiencing severe acne. The spa is incredibly inviting and the esthetician Tatiana who is working with him is super attentive. The fact that my son, who was resistant to even using a toner at home, is now asking to go back for follow up facials says it all. Wonderful place.”
